The only people who want IVs to begone are ignorant.

Would you send those 20 Dittos to the poffin factory because they didn't have the right nature AND perfect IVs?

No, because transforming copies the opponent's stats.

And it's not permament.

If it isn't transformed, why are you using Ditto.

Seriously, transform so it does something.

I understand the point of having IV's, and I do like the feeling of individuality that it gives each Pokemon, yet when I played Red "back in the day" my Charmander was still my Charmander because I raised it, taught it Fire Blast and Earthquake, and leveled it all the way up to 100. It still felt special to me because I took the time to raise it, and I didn't even know IVs (DVs back then) existed.

What I really don't like about IVs today is that it makes a Pokemon seem useless if it doesn't have great IVs in most stats. It just seems to completely contradict what the series has been preaching from Day 1, "Pokemon are our friends and companions." Yes, I know this is a game, but something just doesn't sit right in me when I breed or catch a Pokemon and just stuff it away in one of my boxes or release it because it doesn't have the right stats. I wouldn't do that to a dog or other animal in real life.

IV breeding makes sense if Pokemon are meant to be treated as race horses, but are they really? Would you send those 20 Dittos to the poffin factory because they didn't have the right nature AND perfect IVs? It just sends the wrong message when Red has perfect IV Pokemon in-game in the World Tournament yet every single episode of the anime he's going on and on about friendship.

This is exactly why I have ignored IVs all this time. When I catch a Pokemon I like, I will keep and train them, regardless of whatever hidden stats they have. Then again, I don't care for the competitive scene, so I don't need to worry anyway.

Yes, I am also surprised when someone directly agrees with a troll.

Me? A troll? What is this blasphemy you speak of?

You literally made a direct parody of a topic with logical, detailed reasoning behind every point and turned it into a waste of screenspace and time. You are not only incorrect, but blatantly trying to piss off everyone with proper cognitive function.

I find your accusations quite rude. And you claim I'm incorrect without proof. And no, I'm trying to reason with everyone with proper cognitive function. They just don't seem to get it, for the most part.

Wow, look who's talking. I forget, what did I do? Point out that orcas are in fact dolphins, thus making me look like a sixth grader who wants to be noticed? And then get yelled at because if I don't think bottlenose when I hear "dolphin", I'm wrong?

And you can't take these stats and use them to breed, can you?

Oh, that's what you meant?

That's actually a really simple thought that I didn't get. I'm sorry about that one.

Anyways, the obvious solution here is to question who cares about Nature when breeding.
