This reminds me of the time when Hasbro upped the price of Transformers figure
The collectors complained and complained and complained endlessly.
When in other parts of the world we pay $30 for a Deluxe class Transformers in retail. Seriously, most u guys got it good already.

Well, to be fair, the price jumped from ~$10 to ~$15 over a few years, a 50% increase while Deluxes were getting progressively smaller. But you're still right. Even at their highest in the US, deluxes were still cheaper than the exact same figures still go for today in Canada, even. We're spoiled.
Five bucks per year for pokemon is, like, nothing, man. I guess if it's not about the money, it's about the principle of, "I don't want to give you any more money for extra features that are not at all necessary for the enjoyment game I paid for already."

On the topic of transformers, the pricepoint has slid back down at most retailers, just in time for bigger deluxes in the form of the upscaled cyberverse figures, so I guess that's the exact opposite of what we were complaining about? (Now we'll be complaining about a lack of elbows.)
