I've been thinking about how Hidden Power could be changed. It's obviously going to be changed in the future (given the Fairy type's introduction), but these were just ideas. Hidden Power is kind of a pain right now, and so I'm throwing these out.
To elaborate on the poll choices:
1. As most players know, Hidden Power varies from 30 to 70 base damage. What if the variance was lessened, like from 50 to 75? Even at low power, Technician users can use it efficiently. Or, alternatively, it's a 70-base power attack no matter what.
2. This would help a LOT of Pokemon. There were several Pokemon that just couldn't perform well after the Physical/Special split without Hidden Power being physical, like Dodrio.
3. This is just a minor idea. Before using Hidden Power for the first time, the move will be seen as a Normal-type, Status move. After using it, the moveslot's color will change to the color of the type shown. When looking at the details, it will show the move's base damage and category. In case you forgot what Hidden Power your Pokemon had and are playing in-game, you could just look at it instead of running to the Hidden Power guy.
Just throwing stuff out here. --- You're only young once, but you can be immature forever.
No variance in base damage and making the type visible. --- Playing) FE: Awakening, Guild Wars 2. Skyrim, Pokemon White 2, Harvest Moon 11 Waiting) Pokemon XY, Batman: Arkham Origins, Titanfall, PvZ Garden Warfare
Or better yet. Hidden Power is just a crappy random attack.
There are actually a large variety of powerful, reliable, Special Attacks that are learnable by a lot of Special Attackers like physical attackers have. --- 1. The only fool bigger than the person who knows it all is the person who argues with him. 2. They're all complacent sheeple. <==]-<(-_o)>-[==>
