Wait... If Pokemon Bank is how we transfer from Gen 5...

Then we can use it in the Gen 5 games, right?

Does that mean we can transfer Gen 1-5 Pokemon back to Gen 5 so long as they don't have incompatible moves, abilities, and items? Just like with Gens 1 and 2?

I think it's one-way from G5, though now that you mention it that DOES seem like a wasted opportunity.

I think this would be great.
Anyone else have any thoughts?

From the sounds of it, transferring is a separate process from what the bank does with box storage. Its possible that once they're sent forward, theres no going back.

I'd really like that! You never know when you need to transfer back for anything.

Poké Transporter is a free downloadable application for the Nintendo 3DS system that will be available along with Pokémon Bank. Note that Poké Transporter cannot return Pokémon to Pokémon Black Version, Pokémon White Version, Pokémon Black Version 2, or Pokémon White Version 2 after they have been stored in an online Box.

Unfortunately, no. Still no way to go back.

I thought you needed to buy Pokemon Bank to get Transporter...

Poketransporter's only function is as a one way street from Gen V into Pokemon Bank. Pokemon Bank's function is for managing, storing, and moving Pokemon from Gen VI and beyond.

Gen V does not directly interact with the Bank.

The impression I got from the pokemon direct was that the poketransfer was developed with the bank and worked with the same method (cloud storage), but it was a separate app. I'm not sure if you will have to download both or what to use the transfer system. I guess we will find out more at a later date.

It'd be nice, but it looks like Gen V-Bank is one-way.

Presumably this might work with sending Pokémon from Gen VII to Gen VI, though.
