Pokemon X2/Y2, or Pokemon Z. Which do you think will happen?

Assuming this is the generics, it has Y represents the male and X resembles the female. Hell, Yveltal's design resembles a Muscle Cell and Xerneas' design resembles a Neuron.

Like you said, X and Y chromosomes determine the gender of humans, which Pokemon aren't. Z and W are applicable and relevant to them as they are based on animals.

Z and W versions are as likely as X2/Y2 in this case.

Welp, Z and W are out of the boundaries. Z by itself isn't.

Animals have, I believe, 3 germ layers. Ectoderm, Mesoderm, Endoderm. If I got that wrong, you can call me a failure in biology.

It won't be Pokemon Z because they would then have to make Pikachu the main character and he would have to beat Mega Mewtwo.

Well it depends on what animals you're talking about, sponges have 1 germ layer, jellyfish and corals have 2, which means Tentacool and Corsola, and most do indeed have 3 layers.

But why are you bringing up germ layers to sex chromosomes?

I think they are more likely to do X2/Y2. However, I think I would prefer a downloadable expansion pack with new regions and stuff.

Neither, they're going to do Pokemon XX and XY.

Because it hit me when I mentioned Neurons and Muscle cells. You can forget about the sex chromosomes.

Xerneas' horns represent the Dandrites, its chest represents the Soma, its legs (or knees) represent the axon. It represents the Ectoderm.

Yveltal's veiny looking design represents the blood vessels, it's also shaped like a Myosin. The color represents the Muscle cells. All together, he represents the mesoderm.

I see, I forgot about this fan speculation.

Though the 3rd legendary has been long speculated to be Z as well, which makes sense as it follows an obvious pattern and should very likely lend itself to be the title Pokemon of the third game.

We won't know until the future comes.

IIRC, there was a interview with GF staff about the upcoming games and someone said that "there are no plans for a Pokemon Z Version".

I don't know if it's true, but I sure hope so, because the third version rarely delivers something new, which is why I liked B2W2 idea the most.
