I agree that it's weird when Pokemon that clearly look like one gender can be both genders. Male Gardevoirs, anyone? Why don't they just assign fixed genders to Pokemon like this?
Pokemon=/=human Just because something looks feminine, based on the perspectives of humans shouldn't mean anything to what a Pokemon's gender is.
That is like saying peacocks shouldn't be male because of their colorful and elegant look, compared to the plain females.
Wow, strangely accurate comparison.
In some animals, it's hard to tell what sex they are unless you look at their gender-specific parts. Since Pokémon don't have them (you know what's), we can't tell. Can you tell a male rabbit from a female rabbit at first glance?
IIRC didn't Diamond/Pearl featured Pokemon with gender specific looks? Like for example male Lopunny had longer ear than the female and female Wobuffet had lipsticks on. --- Official Guardian Knight Slacker of Safe Haven. Light blinds us and forces us to stumble about in ignorance - Altair
honestly who cares what bugs me more how the hell can some pokemon can be female only or male only. the reason both genders exist is they NEED each other.
if your gonna make a pokemon reproduce without need an opposite sex mate, then it should be asexual like a star fish.
but male only/female only and able to reproduce is confusing as all hell. just like namekians.... --- You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villain. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tT2wyCXJ72s
honestly I'm tired of seeing people complain about this, get over it, we've had to deal with pokemon that were overly masculine before and no one complained about that. Honestly it doesn't even look that feminine to me, it looks like a mage and mages aren't typically ULTRA MASCULINE.
