Still no proof we can take of the hat

I just want a hat like the one Brendan uses (and yes, it's a hat, not his hair).

Scroll down a little to see "Calem & Serena". Serena has no hat. Not only that, she also has a ponytail. You're welcome.

These are the NPC versions of the Player Characters you don't choose-- the rivals. In every image, the player character has a hat on.

To translate (I'm almost fluent in facepalm), if the NPC versions of the MCs can look as such, there's no reason to think that the option isn't available for the MC version. Because if they can already take off the hat and add a ponytail to the model for the NPC, it would be incredibly easy to add it as an option for the MC, because it's the same base model. And since we've seen that hair and clothing has many options. A no hat option is pretty simple.

While I agree with you that this is probably what GameFreak will do, I still err to the side of caution. Easiness does not suggest it will be done. It would have been easy to program an autorun function, especially since it's been done before, but they did not do this in gen V.

But in this case the model is already programmed.

Oh I know, I'm just pointing it out. The fact that the model has already been shown in game without a hat does seem to indicate that it will be possible, but at the same time, it's almost a tradition that MCs have hats. It just seems weird that they'd give us what appears to be such an extensive level of customization yet not allow us to take off the hat, especially when they've shown that it's possible. They could have made Serena's NPC model have a hat if it were that big a deal. Are they worried about hat head?

In Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, you'll be able to use the boutiques and the salon that appear in the game to change your outfits and hair style. You can change not only your clothes, but also your hat, shoes, and accessories! There are all kinds of preset styles ready for you, too. There are boutiques in many of the cities you visit, and each has its own individual style.

When you change your outfit and your hair, your icon on the PSS and on the Pokémon Global Link will change, too. Find your favorite hair and clothing combinations and show them off for the world to see!

Put special attention to the bolded part.

Not only have they shown that it is possible to do, but they've actually shown that trainers can not wear a hat.

Actually there's official art of Serena trying on different outfits and in one she doesn't have a hat. I don't have it right now though.

That's a safe and educated assumption, not confirmation. This, on the other hand, is a confirmation:

There are character icons in here that don't have a hat on. And the PSS is only to connect to other players.

We can at least change the hat.

But I imagine we'll be able to get rid of it, as we can change hairstyles and it would suck to have to wear a hat over that :c
