Doesn't trying to get the right natures, etc tire you out?

I remember playing FR/LG, and later HG/SS, I was trying to get a Chansey with Natural Cure and the right Nature, and after constant breeding, I could not get one. It took so long I lost the will to keep playing.

We breeders are specialists, I've spent 2000 hours in gen 5 because of breeding, its just something we like to do for some reason.

Yeah, pretty much this.

And when you really know what you're doing and have all the tools (ditto harem, items, etc.) it's a lot faster than you'd think :)

BW2's new breeding mechanics and Join Avenue really made things much more convenient and practical, hopefully there's some sort of customisable shopping arcade in XY as well.

"YES I GOT FULL IV's IN EVERY STAT YEEEEES"

"...cr**, wrong nature"

I'd rather keep natures than IV's. They keep the Pokemon different enough.

That why I breed the Pokemon I want until I get the nature I want, then I breed it with the Pokemon passing down the IVs.

That's impossible with Everstone, though.

Using proper items and parents and stuff, you're guaranteed to get the right nature, ability, and at least 1 IV (and up to 3 perfect IVs have a good chance after a few parent swaps).

For a lot of Pokemon, 3 perfect IVs is enough to play competitively. Usually you just retry until you get perfect in the "necessary" stats, and acceptable (high-end) IVs in bulk (or in your attack type, if you're doing a mostly non-attacking wall or something).

The thing about breeding is that it gets easier over time as you gather more flawless Pokemon of more families and have more options for egg moves.

My record was three flawless in one day and got them all fully evolved and EV'd thanks to Join Avenue.

No. Getting the right nature is 100% guaranteed with the everstone. Getting good IV's can be a lot harder, but I can usually get parents with a few 31's within a couple of 'generations' of eggs.

And if you're after a wild Pokemon with the right nature, just bring along a synchroniser to put at the front of the party when you're doing encounters.
