And here I was hoping that this Gen's Pseudo-Legendary would beat Megarchomp...

No Mega evos in X and Y?
Garchomp. GG. Nothing has changed.

I'd say wait for the Kalos-dex to be released before assuming anything. Gen 5 gave us a good amount of strong pokemon so gen 6 could still top them and Garchomp.

Speed isn't everything. Garchomp still has decent Defenses AND its Attack goes up (okay, its Sp. Attack does too so maybe the Attack boost isn't that great).

Still, Megarchomp will be OP. Mark my words.

DOn't assume anything at this stage, could be that the stats of the Gen 6 Pokémon are proportionately higher to account for the Mega's

if he maintains good speed (even below 100), considerable attack/spA boost, he's going to have his own niche. Not as a sweeper but as a wallbreaker. However, don't be too surprised if GF decides to give garchomp agility and/or dragon dance.

standard garchomp woudl destroy everything.

Speed isn't anything, but it is easily one of the most important stats. that 15 point diffence is keeping Jolteon in OU while Raikou eats dirt in UU despite ouclassing Jolt in everything except speed.

Megas for Gen VI will probably be in Z.

Gamefreak probably wants to gaige which pokemon are popular and need stat boosts before taking the time to develop Mega Forms for them.

Also the pseudo-legendary could be an Ice/Fairy with Levitate or something

and make all the old pokemons without the mega forms obsolete?
