Clearly nobody remembers what the voltorb line was based on. Oh well, electrode is still my fave electric poke of all time :)

Being based on a mimic does not make it's design creative, only it's concept. The design itself still sucks. Amongous is a creative mimic.

A creative mimic that nobody in their right mind could actually mistake for a Pokeball.

The only reason it works ingame is because of the top/down view.

Yeah, because 50 cm and then 1.2 m Pokéballs are so common to find.

Wow, a Poke Ball Pokemon (Voltorb) turned over (Electrode).

Gen I. was no excuse. It was just pure laziness.

I concur. I like Electrode, but it's just kind of uninspired. At the very least, Gen 1's defence in poorer designs is that they had to start somewhere.

Be warned, I may jump to epic fails of conclusions and general other errors. In advance, I apologise.

Electrode moves his eyebrows in a devious manner, your opinion is invalid.

Girl:No thank you. I take it black, *sips coffee* like my men.

- had to start somewhere
- smaller design team
- less hardware capabilities
- (assuming) smaller budget

what else can we come up with?

I don't think anyone is gonna mistake Voltorb for one either >_>

Nah, I still think the Vanilluxe family is way worse. Because they're FOOD. Imagine a Pokemon called Hamminite, which is just a plate of ham.
