Well, I mean, he is a big sword. I'd think it'd be weirder if he DIDN'T learn something related to that fact.


I could see it getting Swords Dance, sure. But Sacred Sword? When was the last time a random ghost in a sword was sacred to anybody?


Maybe the ghosts are of deceased warriors?
Besides just because a pokemon learns a move it doesn't apply to the description or name. Not to mention IT'S A SWORD what did you expect?

I actually really like the idea that Honedge is the ghost of some legendary swordsman or something like that, still desiring battle even after death.
