They've introduced some stuff I adore, like the barnacle and all of the new ghosts, but bugs are what I look forward to the most every generation, and the only new bug in XY is ANOTHER BUTTERFLY!?
It's even #666 in the dex, so a doubly wasted opportunity.
If it had been a housefly, my dream pokemon, then we could at least make Beelzebub jokes. But no.
Besides a true fly, pokemon totally lacks a mosquito, cockroach, pillbug, flea, grasshopper, earwig, mole cricket, termite, a waterbug that actually remains water/bug as it evolves, about a dozen other common, famous everyday arthropods and thousands of more exotic "bugs" around the world.
We need more rare bug related Pokes... Tired of the f***load of butterflies. I get it, there are tons of f***ing butterflies in the world. What about the beetles and waterbugs and cicadas we got for the other gens?
"It's a gift... and a curse." - Monk RIP in peace my blog. thank you.
Hell, they tout this 18th type and give it almost jack s*** in variety even with altering old ones. Dragon was getting to Uber? Man up, and give some new ice type moves to Pokes to balance out things. There was no need to bring in an entirely new type that got almost no pokes and the only mono in it is a Legendary.
