Why do you suppose we can never have a game with all the regions?

The whole idea of "oh we'll your Pokemon will be OP by the second region" is easily countered with the idea of a sort of "permit" given to you only after beating that region's league to be able to use other region's Pokemon.

Yes it has always been my dream to have all regions in one game... And I'm sure there some who feel that way, but something tells me it won't happen.

Why?

All six regions in one game seems excessive. The only way I can see it working is if they completely overhaul the gameplay. They'd have to do something completely new. As it is, it sounds tedious for both the player and the creators.

Probably because unless all the regions are neutered barren wastelands or the amount of space we have is huge it very likely would not be feasible to fit them all there.

All very good points. Guess the closet thing is Kanto and Johto then!

They tried 2 and it was an utter failure. And even when remaking it they couldn't fix the problem. Still nothing to do, trainer levels crazy low. All regions would be a train wreck.

The only way they could really do it is if they up the level cap to like 500, which I would seriously doubt will ever happen.

If you have all 6 regions in 1 game you render all the old games obsolete and people are going to be hesitant to buy the new games because they might become totally worthless in the future. Right now the single region games work as a pseudo drm that disensentivizes trading in old games. Ever wonder why despite being one of the most popular handheld franchises ever you see so few used copies of pokemon games on store shelves? now you know

Remember how watered down Kanto was in GSC? Now multiply that by three times...also space limitations.

This is a work of a demon isn't it? Demons here, demons there! It's all so....demoning.

Level balancing just wouldn't work, amount of content per region wouldn't work out either. GSC/HGSS are proof of this and it's only two regions... I don't think it would necessarily be space issues nowadays, though.
