If you look at the leaked pokedex, you'll notice the overwhelming majority of the evolutionary lines are two stages. It's clear to me at least, that they are just slimming down on unnecessary c***. Honestly, does anyone care about the middle evos? Does Pangoro really need need a middle evo? Clawitzer? Avalugg? All these pokemon have competitive stats, so I'm not really seeing any loss.
There are 18 two stage lines in X/Y. If you stick a middle pokemon in the lines you have 90 new pokemon total. However, I applaud GF for trimming the fat.

Did you censor crap? --- Black 2 FC: 3569 1730 6208 She would return every so often. Her lips tasted like tragedy, but he could never forget her. How could he when she was always near?

I liked that too to be honest --- R - Official Matador of the Shin Megami Tensei IV board - Rose_Mage's loving husband
I expected Clauncher and Skrelp to only have 1 evolution from the start. It's usually (Honedge, I hate you) pretty easy to tell how many stages a family will have. Honedge and Fletchling's lines were the only real surprises IMO. (Fletchinder kinda came out of nowhere, lol.)
