Why is this such a hot topic to include gays?

Because bigoted jerks are no longer allowed to express their bigotry towards people based on gender, appearance, or which fairy tails they believe are true but it is still socially acceptable to be a hateful jerk to people based on their sexuality so you see a bunch of hateful jerks being as cruel as possible to people of a different sexuality

Or we don't need any sort of romantic flair in a game for ten year olds, heterosexual or homosexual.

(...unless its possible for the male protagonist to date lysandre whoops)

Because its a subject that is known to rustle jimmies and people use it as a quick 500 topic.

In reality gay people don't even think about gay people as often as the straight people of this board do.

This, and its freaking pokemon, the closest thing you have to a romance is the sort of relationship you have with N in black/white. There is no room for romance in the game so gay/straight or bi do not apply.

Simple as that. Go take your need for acceptance of homosexuality to a game that focuses on realistic mechanics and in game activities like Skyrim or GTA or other open world games. This would be like asking why Tetris doesn't address the problems with racism through their color blocks.

I mean really? What do you want? A rainbow pokemon that say's "Acceptance is the best!" or something? How exactly do you think they should be portraying gay culture in a non-sexual non-romantic sort of way that isn't immediately stereotypical? You want to walk into a pokecenter and find two dudes standing next to each other and when you talk to either they something like "Oh, yes I love you too." and the other one says something kind in return?

I'm sure the people finding the one minor point in the game will have their whole opinions on homosexuality changed that very second. This arguement serves absolutely no purpose.

I think its one thing to want it shown in culture more. But why do people want to see this in pokemon of all things? Like i could see it in a number of places before this. Imagine Catherine if it had a choice route where the guy falls for one of his male friends.

I believe it's an issue currently because a relationship of sorts is going on in the games, beyond the N-level (though honestly that felt pretty crushy at least). So it's not a matter of not having romance at all in Pokemon, at least currently.

well if theres leaked info about being forced to romance the female main character then I can see why people want the option to be included

not that it matters to me though, since i wouldnt want to date the male protagonist (or a lookalike) anyway
