EVs of wild Pokemon can't be totally random...

#1KementarriPosted 10/8/2013 4:32:28 AM
Just caught 3 Jolly Elekids in a row, the odds of 1 is 1/25. So let's see what the statisical probably of 3 in a row are. 1/25 * 1/25 * 1/25 = 1/15625 = %0.0064

I don't even want to talk about what sigma that is in the bell curve....

Basically, that's statistically impossible, therefore some in the game makes certain pokes prone to certain natures. Likely it's different for every save file =\.

CMIIW EVs of wild poke'mon are 0? And once you battle said pokes then they started gaining them?

Wild pokemon don't have EVs, do they? Also, I don't think a computer is capable of generating a completely random number, which is how rng abuse works I believe. I might be wrong.

Just to check, do you have a jolly synchroniser at the front of your party? That would increase the chances considerably.

There are certain abilities that make it more likely that wild Pokemon will have the same nature as your lead pokemon

I know this and I am just using Dewott at level 18. No synchronize here.

You're using frequentest logic there, and without any adjustment for multiple hypothesis testing. If you use Bayesian logic you should hardly reject an even distribution of natures based on a 0.0064 chance of one occurrence happening; the prior that they are evenly distributed is too strong.
