Do you think it'll be easier to hunt for one of these using the Pokeradar, or breed for one using the Masuda Method? It's next on my list for shiny, right after I'm done breeding for shiny Froakie.

Pokeradar can bring your shiny chances down to 1-200 instead of 1 out of 8000+

KaosKronos, (or anyone else whose gotten the hang of chaining) when you were chaining in that area and you were forced to reset the pokeradar, did you target shaking grass that was far away from the last place you battled? Or did you target shaking grass that was far away from your current position? Because I feel like that's what keeps messing me up. My highest chain so far in that same grassy area is only 11.

Do you have any tips in general for chaining in that particular location?

the center is where you are when you use the pokeradar or directly after the battle. Since most of the ones i go for are in small grassy areas i just reset the radar from the same spot everytime. Takes longer but its better than losing a high chain

Awesome. Thanks for the tip. Hopefully it'll make the difference for me.

heh np, but yeah once you get it chained to 40 (chance is 1 out of 200 now) and stay patient you should have it

I guess my last question to you is, within this particular area, how many spaces away either vertically or horizontally are you willing to risk entering a shaking patch of grass? One guide I've read says the minimum should be 4 spaces away in either direction, though it did also mention that there's a lot of disagreement on this rule. Do you follow that same guideline for this area? Or is it a little different for you? For instance, do you find that you'll enter patches of shaking grass 5 or more spaces away, or perhaps only 3 spaces away?
