Would I be able to send a Pokemon to Pokemon Black2 from Pokemon X via Pokebank?

It's only $5 a year, guys.

Just cut back on a soda every now and then and you're good.

Plus there's a free trial for a month or two, so you can just transfer everything you want all at once and never have to worry about it again.

You guys are missing that they are beggining to charge for things that were free. They might aswell just make you pay for the online part of the game.

Again transfers were never truly free unless you had a DS or a friend with the same system. Plus the cost of a link cable was double the amount you'd pay for Pokemon Bank and back then you had to transfer ONE Pokemon at a time.

Hell when you think about it charging or not this IS the best method of transfers ever and it doesn't cost that much, nor do we know if transfer are truly going to cost money or if they will have a free method of transfers ad the cost is the storage.

The important reason they're doing it like this is so that they can filter out the illegal Pokemon. It's been possible to move Pokemon with illegal movesets/abilities/etc up the past few gens since everything was done locally.

That too, not to mention again, to do it via and offline app would mean that Pokemon get stored on the SD card, which brings in other issues.

Sure they could have made it local running of the SD card or something. But honestly. That would have been pretty idiotic in comparison to what they did do as this plans ahead for when Nintendo uses a system that no longer uses SD cards or upgrades to non backwards compatible or all manner of other possibilities. Including the one they had this gen when they weren't sure how to deal with transfers at first almost giving us another reboot, ironically that probably would have ensured another remake game too. And hey it removes the short sighted problems of having to need the previous gen to transfer to any future gens in case you just don't want the game. In the long run it's a great option. In the short it's a bit less than ideal starting off, with some conveniences.

That in mind it's never really been completely free if you think about it. This being the first time you can do it with a single system and all. And even if you did consider it free, a service that was once free is not ensured to always maintain that price. Its worth can change over time, it's up to you to decide if the price is worth it for you. For some people $5 a year is reasonable for the storage, for some like yourself it's not. Although online storage isn't exactly the same thing as direct transfers to even be called the same service. Plus people can have New Game +'s now as their mons will stay safe in storage. No amount of naysaying is taking away that positive.

The fact of the matter is you're paying money for some cloud storage, it's like paying to have an e-mail address.

Gen 2 allowed you to trade back pokemon that were in Gen 1, back to Gen 1.

Because they were programmed into the Gen I games. Gen VI Pokemon are not programmed into Gen V.

Please read again and retry. :)

(Or are you going to try and trade your Tyranitar back to Red?)

What part of this are you not getting? My initial response to your statement was valid. What are you trying to get at?

Are you daft? You could trade Gen 1 Pokemon back to Gen 1 from Gen 2. He's asking why it would be impossible to trade anything below Gen 6 to Gen 5 from a Gen 6 game. We KNOW Gen 6 Pokemon aren't programmed into Gen 5, just as Gen 2 Pokemon weren't programmed in Gen 1. But the compatible Pokemon could be traded over.
