Mega Heracross moveset help

#1DougyBPosted 10/22/2013 11:38:43 AM
I'm trying to figure out a good moveset for my heracross. Right now I have only the moves that attack 5 times so I can take advantage of his ability.

- Pin Missile
- Rock Blast (I think that's what it's called, right?)
- Bullet Seed
- Arm Thrust

I was wondering if since they are guaranteed to hit 5 times does that mean that an ability that has a power of 25 deals 125 power worth of damage?

If that is so then should I replace Arm Thrust with something else? It only has a power of 15 while everything else is 25. Or does having 5 shots give it the opportunity to crit more? If i should change it then what fighting move do you advise I take?

Any and all advice is much appreciated.

If pin missile has 25 base power, i see no reason not to use that over megahorn. Same for rock blast over stone edge.

But bullet seed (or any grass type move) offers no dire additional coverage on this set; I'd either use earthquake or night slash.
And I'd say close combat is still your best bet for a fighting move.

Unless this set is for in-game. Then i suppose its all up to your preference.

Arm Thrust is only like 10 bp under in exchange for the fact that you do not lose def/sp def when using it.

And since Mega Heracross is on the slower side Arm Thrust is better then Close Combat.

I disagree. He said its base 15 so at 5 attacks, thats 75 compared to 120 or whatever CC is.

And also, is it slower than normal heracross?

Pin Missile will hit 5 times with Skill Link, so 5x25=125 base power, which is 5 more than Megahorn. Plus, Pin Missile has 95% accuracy while Megahorn has 85%. And Pin Missile will break through substitutes and keep hitting.

Arm Thrust only has 75 base power, though. Just as much as Brick Break.
