Why do people hate Gen 3 so much?

I loved it, and it's still my favorite, and I thought people felt the same generally about it. Now that I'm seeing crap loads of hate, I gotta ask: What is it about it that you hate?

Because I wasn't a kid when I played it, so I don't have any sort of nostalgia for those games.

The fact that dozens of Pokémon were not available until Colosseum, FireRed and LeafGreen.

Water, no backwards capabilities, lack of johto pokemon, no day and night, horrible rival, and water.

Because it followed Gold/Silver, the best entries in the series.

It was the dawn of "modern" pokemon. It was bound to be hated.
Gentlemen understand that embezzlement, insider trading, tax fraud, and similar activities are not crimes. Crimes are committed by poor people and involve guns.

mainly due to it being a reset on the franchise. It also came out after the big craze and had stiff competition with yugioh.

the weakest point of the 3rd gen was each typing are either Physical or Special attack type not mixed

It felt lackluster, granted it introduced many new concepts to the pokemon games, but looking back it's pretty lame and empty.
