Makes me feel pressured to use Pokemon I wouldn't normally be interested in. --- Also, Chess is a game of skill much like all gameplay only video games. So it is pretty mindless if you think about it.-mtjormitch

So don't use them. If your team is prepared well enough you don't need to rely on one anyway. A lot of the pokemon I like got megas, so I can't really complain. But honestly there are only 3 or so that really stand out. --- 3DS Friend Code: 5455-9401-7637 MH3U: Souretsu

Too bad they're not completely optional and the game is so much harder without them...
The game itself tells you that pokemon can be powerful without Mega Evolution. Why do you feel any kind of pressure? --- "Yeah, they're in the game. But if you don't buy them, you can't play as them. Why? Because F*** YOU GIVE ME MONEY!"-Angry Joe

While there are some great Megas, most Megas aren't too much more powerful than a standard OU Pokemon when adjusted for lack of items.
It works out. --- On 12/02/12 I said I wouldn't change this until something impossible happened. Now, Earthbound just got re-released in the US.

I don't know why you're feeling "pressured," but making terrible pokemon not terrible is a big part of the point of Megas.
Pokemon that Mawhile that were cool but unusable, are now amazingly awesome. --- Currently playing: Pokemon Y, Xenoblade Chronicles, 3DS FC: 2277-7562-5299 All bow down to your Steel type overlords!

Ok, I literally JUST unlocked it, so I really don't know the total effect it has on the game.
If it effectively mostly balances weaker pokemon, then I think it's actually a really good idea. --- Also, Chess is a game of skill much like all gameplay only video games. So it is pretty mindless if you think about it.-mtjormitch
