Best moveset for Mega Alakazam?

#1ThePokeMan98Posted 10/27/2013 6:15:10 PM
I was thinking...

Alakazam @ Alakazite
Trait: Trace
Nature: Modest
Evs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 SpD
Reflect
Psychic
Dazzling Gleam
Recover

Reflect patches up his weakness to physical moves, especially a shadow sneak from Aegislash. I'm unsure whether I should give him psychic or psyshock, though I see a lot of people running psyshock. Dazzling Gleam deals with dragons and dark types. Recover is there for reliable recovery, though I'm starting to think I should add something else like calm mind.

Thoughts?

lel at using Recover and Reflect on Alakazam.

Use Shadow Ball and Focus Blast alongside Dazzling Gleam and Psyshock.

This. Even with Reflect, Megazam still dies to physical hits just as easily. Focus Blast and Shadow Ball are better choices.

What it was just an idea. I'm one of those people that don't feel comfortable running focus blast... Is there an alternative to running it?

Reflect and Recover are wasted, Alakazam isn't mean to hold hits and stay there forever. If it's killed then carry on.

That said, you could have a better Mega anyway

Put the reflect on a supportmon and if you want health regen put wish on that supportmon as well. Keep ur alakazam pure damage.

Nope Focus Blast is still one of the best coverage moves even with its terrible accuracy. You just gotta hope the RNG Goddess is on your side!

You could try Energy Ball which is a strong grass move but it really doesn't have the same coverage Focus Blast has.

Stop using terrible mega and use normal Alakazam who have practically 190 Sp.A instead of 170
