Question about SD Card Data transfers and physical/digital copies of game.

Hi all,
Have a few questions for the techy fans out there.
I recently purchased Pokemon X via digital download. Now I am planning on getting Y and can't decide which route would be best to take. I know about the Pokemon Bank so I don't think that will affect either the Pokemon Y digital or physical copy purchase.

I have the standard SD Card that came with the nintendo 3ds xl system. I found that if i downloaded Y onto the system that I would literally be out of memory. So first question. Would it be wise to purchase a new SD Card and transfer the data onto that card? If so, how would I do that. I have an SD Card reader for my laptop, is it a simple drag and drop or do I need to do something different?

Other question is would it just be better to get the Physical copy of Y and just pokemon bank my X digital data and just upload that into Y?

Any help would be great!
Thanks!

It's a simple drag and drop. Copy the contents to your PC, then copy them into your new SD card.

Make sure that the hidden files get copied as well.
