I realize this is a silly idea, but just for the hell of it: what if we made another new type designed specifically to balance out the type chart? What strengths and weaknesses would it have?

Here's what I'm thinking:

Super effective on: Fairy, Water
Not very effective on: Ice, Dark
Takes double damage from: Bug, Dragon
Takes half damage from: Ground, Grass
Immune to: Rock

What do you think? Any changes you'd make? And what possible type would make sense for this?

I'm guessing joke post? The very LAST thing Ice needs is another weakness. Part of the whole reason I thought of this was to buff Ice defensively.

Switch Grass and Dragon and it's decent.

Grass could use some more coverage and Dragon is still too good.

Works even better with switched grass and dragon.

Grass seems to have most of the "scissors" style moves that aren't bug (razor leaf and its variations).

Imo, the type chart doesnt need a new type, it just needs a lot of tweaking.

What i would change in terms of the existing type chart:
-Rock resists itself
-Rock resists Bug
-Rock resists Ice
-Rock no longer resists Poison
-Grass resists Rock
-Ice resists Water
-Water is weak to Poison
-Fairy no longer resists Bug
-Fairy now resists Ghost
-Ghost is now weak to Fairy
-Bug resists Dark
-Bug no longer resists Fighting
-Fighting no longer resists Bug
-Fairy is weak to Normal
-Normal resists Fairy
-Normal is weak to Dark

Rock gains three new key resistances to offset its slew of weaknesses.
Poison is resisted by one less type, and gains a key type advantage
Ice now gains a resistance to a dominant type, and is nerfed slightly offensively
Water gains a new weakness, and resisted by another
Grass gains a useful resistance
Bug is resisted by two less types
Dark is resisted by another type, but is super effective against another
Ghost is resisted by another type, and gains a weakness
Fighting loses a resistance, and is resisted by one less type
Fairy gains another weakness, but a type advantage over another
Normal gains a resistance and a new weakness, along with being super effective against a type.
