Jolly or Modest.Dragonite

#1jenniaotrPosted 11/10/2013 7:34:50 AM
I plan to have a special attacking Dragonite for my rain team with Hurricane, Thunder, Roost, and Outrage. I plan to put the EV's in Sp. Attack and Speed. Since I cannot use Dragon Dance, should I have a Jolly Dragonite or should I have a Modest one for more power?

First off, you'd want Timid if you were running a purely Special set. Jolly decreases Special Attack.

But you're running a mixed set, so you need to run a nature that decreases one of your defenses. That means you need Hasty or Naive.

Why are you running a special dragonite when its physical move pool is better than that?

Sorry I meant Timid, sometimes I mix the natures up. Also I don't plan on running a mixed set, just a special one :)

Wouldn't you be better off with Draco Meteor rather than Outrage? Outrage is physical and is actually quite worse an attack in this gen because of Fairies. So if you use Draco Meteor you can use a Timid nature.

Because I want to use him in a rain team :)! That means 100% accuracy for Hurricane and Thunder which can be pretty deadly. I was also thinking of using Noivern for this, but it can only learn Hurricane and it doesn't have access to Thunder.

Outrage is a physical attack though, which is what is confusing people.

I didn't realize Outrage was physical, thank you :)! I will replace it with Draco Meter. Yeah I was worried about Fairies. Do you think Timid or Modest would be better?
