Avalugg loadouts, opinions needed.

We all know Avalugg has amazing attack and massive defence but he is really brought down by his petty SpDefence.
I was wondering if the following loadout would be any good in a competitive match-up.

Avalugg:
Nature: +SpD, -SpA/Spe
Item: Assault Vest
Ev's: SpD = Atk and the remaining 4 Into Def or Hp
IV's: At least perfect SpD

Or

Nature: +Atk/Def, -Spe/SpA
Item: Focus Sash
Ev's: Hp = Atk and remaining 4 into Def
IV's: At least perfect Hp

With Mirror Coat this loadout would destroy 1 SpA but then after that Avalugg is pretty much dead.

He would have to have an all attack moveset with assault vest and in turn he would miss out on Recover and other support/boosting moves.
But would he need recover with an assaut vest boosted SpD?

I want to give either Torkoal the assault vest or leftovers so i'm not sure what to give who.

For the first set, just go HP/Sp.Def. If you're going to build a defensive set, go full tilt, that EV spread is just awkward.

Second set sounds good though. I'd rethink the Focus Sash though. I know where you're coming from with it, but...I would say go with Choice Band or something.

Why use a Focus Sash when you can just have Sturdy?

Wait, Avalugg can get sturdy?
I've been breeding them for ages and not a single baby has a different ability.

Please don't tell me it's one of those safari abilities...

Yup, Hidden Ability. I'm sure the trade boards will help you out.

Is there bergmite hordes?

Thanks for all the help.
