Mega Tyranitar or Mega Mawile for sand team?

#1TJDNAPosted 11/12/2013 12:40:04 PM
I'm debating weather or not to use Mega Tyranitar or Mega Mawile. If I use Mega Tyranitar, it will be a Jolly one with Dragon Dance to sweep. I don't know much about Mega Mawile, but I was wondering how it does competitively and if it's worth using over Mega Tyranitar.

I would also appreciate any suggestions of a Pokemon that I can add for my sand team. So far I got Ferrothorn, Gliscor, Excadrill, Garchomp, and possibly Tyranitar

Tyranitar is fine without his Mega. Mawile is not.

Go Mega Mawile and keep regular T-Tar for sand.

The only thing I worry about with Mega Mawile is it's poor speed. I'm worried it can be taken down fast.

The nice thing about vanilla Tyranitar is that you can slap an Assault Vest on him and make him an absolutely specially defensive monstrosity.

The only downside is that you don't get access to stuff like Stealth Rock and Dragon Dance.

EDIT: Mega Mawile has access to Sucker Punch, which is pretty much fundamental, and pretty beastly when backed by her natural 678 Attack after the Huge Power boost.

You have Sucker Punch, Intimidate from Regular Mawile, and base 125 Defense. Not every Pokemon has to be fast.

Wow Mawile has crazy power ha ha :)! The only problem is mawile with sucker punch is pretty predictable, so that could give someone the perfect opportunity to set up hazzards/substitute, ect.

Be creative and use hippowdon. :) I use her and she wrecks teams. Use the unexpected. Cuz all I see are the same pokes in every team preview lol

For my team I have several strategic pivots for making slowness not matter.

I run a Baton Pass Ninjask. I also run Trick Room Reuniclus, and have Klefki for T Wave and bring down enemy speed.

Its totally fine, sir. I seem to do quite well for a stretch and then at the end of the sentence I say the wrong cranberry.
