These are probably all really obvious, but I seem to be having problems with these things. Do note, I'm using Open Office (inb4lolopenoffice), so I'm not sure if that's what's causing the problem or not.

Am I supposed to type in the Pokemon's actual name, or it's Dex Number? While entering the number seems to work better, I get a #N/A error in the Type boxes, and the scroll down menu for the Abilities only gives an option for a #502 error.

Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

I assume that has to do with Open Office. I'm sorry, but I haven't had a chance to try it at all in Open Office, but I sincerely doubt it will work correctly. For the record you just type the name or select it from the dropdown, but I imagine that the functionality it uses is specific to Excel. I also can't confirm that it works in every version of Excel. I made it and have only tried it in Excel 2010, although I can't see why it wouldn't work in newer versions. If anyone has any problems with other versions, let me know and I will try to resolve them. I doubt there is much I can do about Open Office though without building the whole thing again specifically for Open Office :(

I was having a similar problem when I opened this up at work using excel 2003 I believe.

I can confirm that it works fine once i tried it on excel 2010 at home. I believe it could be a problem with Open Office.

Can you please try saving it as XLS (2003 format) and check if it still works? I appreciate your work, but paying extra for 2010/2013 isn't an option and official format conversion tool seems to butcher the functionality.

I'll give it a shot. I'll get back to you soon with the results.

In the first post of this thread there is a link to an older post where I first posted the links. In that post, I explain how the spreadsheet works. Basically, once you enter Pokemon and move names, the two tables at the bottom automatically fill to let you know what your team is strong against / weak to. It's good for working out a balanced team.

I tried saving it as a XLS document and was met with several errors. It looks like anything less than Excel 2010 isn't going to support it in the way it is currently written. Sorry :/
