Best Nature for Mega Venusaur?

#1Pervert_KuhnPosted 11/14/2013 5:46:22 PM
I was thinking Bold or Calm to beef it up a bit more for tanking.

I'm planning to run: Leech Seed, Giga Drain, Sludge Bomb, Synthesis/Sleep Powder/Grassy Terrain.

Bump. I'm making sure before making a trade topic on the trade board.

Personally I like Modest. It's already got pretty beefy defenses, and I just max out its HP and Sp.Atk so that I can really deal some damage.

I like to think (though it may not really be entirely true) that the extra healing you get from Giga Drain helps to make up for the lower defenses, as well. But ultimately, I'd just want to be able to deal more damage, and the 122 base Sp.Atk that it does have is quite worth investing into.

Hmm, if I go with Modest, it may be better to choose Sleep Powder for my last move, huh? To minimize the damage I take while either forcing a switch-out or giving me more time to heal.

That could work. One thing I'd keep in mind is that it may not be completely ideal to force switches with sleep while you're trying to have Leech Seed set up.

Maybe Grassy Terrain and Sleep Powder together? They could switch out all day and you'd still get some healing, and you'd also do a hell of a lot more with Giga Drain.

I would go defensive, but mostly because it's just more unique! But I mean if you're using Leech Seed you're going to want a Venusaur that can stick around and absorb the maximum benefits. I like Grassy Terrain or Sleep Powder as the last move.

That is true...my idea was to open with Leech Seed, and then Sleep Powder. But your way sounds safer.

Grassy Terrain sounds good paired with Leech because like the other guy said, you can reap benefits while they switch around.

The other idea is to put something to sleep and then leech seed whatever switches in. That would probably work just as well.

That 50% boost to Giga Drain is mighty tasty, though, especially backed by a Sp.Atk stat of 377.
