if both parents have the same 5 perfect IV's its still possible to do 4 perfect IV's
5 will be transferred (one of them is the non perfect IV) that leaves 4 and then the final non copied is random (in this case not perfect) that leaves 2 unperfect IV's and 4 perfect. assuming they are the exact same perfect 5 iv's you should be unable to get less than 4 perfect IV's.
however if you have 5 perfect IV's on both parents that are not identical, then you could copy both unperfect IV's and 1 random to get 3 unperfect IV's
2 perfect 6 IV's should be breed a no less than 5 IV poke because it will always pull 5 perfect IV's and a random

if you are getting different results you're doing it wrong. If this was even remotely true, it would take MUCH longer to ever get to 4 or 5 IV pokemon starting with just 2s from the safari.
If this legitimately is happening then its another unknown variable at play here, unless you can tell me why I have boxes full of 5-IV pokemon hatched consecutively from the same parents.
You were just lucky with your knot, then. I've used 2 5iv parents and consistently gotten 3 and 4 ivs; it's entirely possible for the knot to choose the same iv from both parents.- all 12 ivs have a chance of being chosen.
