RMT VGC Style

#1geekyscienceboyPosted 11/27/2013 5:26:18 PM
Trying to build a VGC team, but having trouble getting past 1500 on Showdown. Open to any and all suggestions!

Name: Chandelure
Role: Special Sweeper
Item: Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
Nature: Timid
Moves: Heat Wave / Energy Ball / Shadow Ball / Psychic
EVs: 252SpA / 252Spe / 4 HP

Hits HARD and fast. Not much more to say here.

Name: Ferrothorn
Role: Leeching Tank
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
Nature: Relaxed
Moves: Leech Seed / Protect / Worry Seed (changes target's ability!) / Power Whip OR Gyro Ball
EVs: 252 HP / 108 Def / 148 SpDef

Pretty standard Ferrothorn except the Worry Seed, which deals with some Megas and other threats pretty well. Can't decide between Power Whip (Rotom-W) or Gyro Ball (quick threats)

Name: Gyarados
Role: Bulky Support
Item: Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate
Nature: Adamant
Moves: Waterfall / Earthquake / Protect / Taunt
EVs: 252 Hp / 52 Atk / 140 Def / 20 SpDef / 44 Spe

Taunts a lot of things pretty well (Liepard, Klefki, other fairies), and can take down Rotom-W in 2-3 hits with Earthquake once transformed. Usually lead with it and then use intimidate a few times.

Name: Mamoswine
Role: Physical sweeper
Item: Life Orb
Ability: Thick Fat
Nature: Adamant
Moves: Ice Shard / Icicle Spear / Earthquake / Protect
EVs: 252 Hp / 252 Atk / 4 Def

Takes care of some dragons and enemies that are low on HP.

Name: Salamence
Role: Special Sweeper
Item: Yache Berry
Ability: Intimidate
Nature: Timid
Moves: Dragon Pulse / Flamethrower / Hidden Power Flying / Protect
EVs: 4 Hp / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Does really well when enemies put up Sunny Day and can get rid of some pesky grass and ice enemies.

For my last spot, I'm not really sure what I need. I've been looking at a LOT of different options, from Meowstik to Rhyperior to Zapdos to Gliscor. I'm not really sure what I need to have to improve, but any help is appreciated.

What did you find was causing you the most trouble when you tested it on showdown?

Oops, that would've been good to include.

I'm having difficulties with Dark-types (they annihilate my Chandelure).

Rotom-W STILL gives me problems, although it's considerably less since I have so many checks for it.

Besides that, Sun teams can be a problem, and rock is a weakness, too. Since Chandelure is so powerful, it can usually take out part of the team (especially with Flash Fire), but then gets taken out.

M-Kangaskahn and M-Mawile are also problematic, because I'm not sure how to get around Sucker Punch aside from Ferrothorn.

So . . . that's sort of a lot, I guess.

Doesn't rotom have levitate so earthquake can't hit it... or am I missing something here?

Rotom does have Levitate, but M-Gyarados has Mold Breaker, so that negates Levitate.

So . . . any ideas?
