Special attackers?

#18BP-QuilavaPosted 11/27/2013 11:26:48 PM
Right now I am trying to decide between Espeon and Jolteon. Any suggestions? Are there better special attackers I should know about? (I have Protean Froakie already >.>)

Espeon is more of a defender. And there are DEF better special attackers.
Gengar, Alakazam, Meowstic, Gardevoir, etc.

Well, I want one that's fast, doesn't die when something sneezes on it, and doesn't require a mega evolution, since the mega slot is reserved by my Mawile.

If you're using something to attack, chances are it won't be that bulky. It's just how it is.
You can have a strong special attacker with little bulk, or a bulky type with mediocre special attacking power.

Then don't go with either one. Jolteon dies when something looks at it the wrong way.

"Doesn't die when something sneezes on it"

I don't need it to be the Great Wall, I need it to not be a solid OHKO for everything

Dont forget the "lower tier" ones that can fill in niches and are hilarious when scarfed.

Roserade, Vanilluxe, Heliosk, Togekiss, Yanmega, etc.

And if youre hurting for a mega, Mega Ampharos is monstrous sp atk that completely forgoes speed for some hefty bulk.

Edit: always late posting, Roserade has awesome special bulk if you care about that, and togekiss isnt squishy.

On that note I would suggest Goodra.
Good natural bulk, special attacker, works amazing with Assault Vest.
Seems like what you're looking for, but don't expect too many OHKO's out of any "bulky" special attacker.

Espeon doesn't have the bulk but is fantastic if you predict properly. Not to mention is a fast and powerful threat.

Rotom-W has the bulk you're looking for and at least respectable 86 speed (but thats below average).

Generally speaking, fast pokemon don't take hits well. I mean its not like Espeon couldn't take a special attack... but physical? Naw.

Actually, Espeon is severely underrated as a Sp. Attacker. If Espeon was a Fire or Water type, it would be OU for sure since gen 2, as 130/110 Sp. Attacking and Speed stats is pretty much the perfect Eeveelution distribution. Problem is a lot of other Psychic types are ridiculously fast and powerful.

However, Magic Bounce DEFINITELY lets Espeon hold it's own as a Sp. Attacker. I recommend you use a combination of Calm Mind, Psychic/Psyshock, Dazzling Gleam, and HP Fire. Magic Bounce really helps Espeon to set up.

Alternatively you could replace Dazaling Gleam or HP Fire with Morning sun, so that you can better endure Power Whips, Gyro Balls, and Seismic tosses.
