Meaning a game where the story didn't suck and had traditional JRPG like storylines with cliche romance/twists etc. Circa 90/80s Square/Maybe FF15

or a game where they included all previously visited regions with numerous gyms/Pokemon leagues, maybe like Xenoblade huge.

I thought Black and White's storyline was pretty good too...

Mystery Dungeon is extremely story-driven in the 2nd half of each of the games.

Story-based. Roaming isn't too likely because Japanese players dislike it when games are too open and sandboxy.

Story-based, simply because your other option has "Region Free" in it, and Nintendo doesn't do "region free". They keep it locked and unashamedly so.

Because they hate you, and everything you stand for.

None of the above.

More likely is an NFC Pokemon game where Nintendo releases each Poke as a figurine that saves your level and stat data to the figure, ala Skylanders.

Nintendo has to be sitting on this idea. They'd make millions in individual figurine sales. Slow release of the entire dex, maybe gen by gen and in Legendary sets.

That game already exists. It's called Pokemon Rumble U, and you can buy the figures at your local game specialty store (like GameStop).

The Wii U pad has an RF scanner which scans them into the game, in case you were curious.

B/W (and to a lesser extent, their sequels) had the best story-line in the series thus far.
Maybe you should check them out before making such an statement.

I would have supported you somewhat, TC, until you used the word 'cliched'. Because if there's something I don't think a game needs is wanton use of cliches, be it Pokemon or any other.
