My 3DS broke, can I use my save file in a new system?

The 3DS has a system transfer option, though I'm not sure you'd be able to do that depending on how broken it is.

Also, how old is it? You could always try sending it to Nintendo for repairs.

I never understood buying digital. So you can carry all your games with you, but if something happens, then what? No resale value, if that's what you like, and SD card corruption isn't uncommon.


You can redownload the game as many times as you want. It's also pretty obvious that anyone who buys digital intends to keep the game.

Nintendo is kind of bad at digital, but in general, digital offers a number of pros and cons, the cons you mentioned (though I would say SD card corruption is no more likely than cart corruption), but the pros are having everything in one place, being able to re-download a game, so no worries about it getting lost or stolen or damaged, no space issues... It's just a general convenience issue.
