This is a split board - You can return to the Split List for other boards.

The only counter I can think of to Choice Band Azumarill is Mega Venusaur.

Why would it choice band a Play Rough? Azumarill won't survive because of its low speed, unless in Trick Room.

Heliolisk is almost a sure way to make Azumarill switch out. Getting one locked into Aqua Jet or Waterfall is pretty easy.

What about Aegislash?

252+ Atk Choice Band Huge Power Azumarill Waterfall vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Aegislash-Shield: 90-106 (53.8 - 63.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Not too well, if the Azu predicts the Aegi and goes for Waterfall.

252+ Atk Choice Band Huge Power Azumarill Play Rough vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Aegislash-Shield: 51-60 (30.5 - 35.9%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Leftovers recovery

Still not terrible damage at 30-35% on a resisted attack and in Shield Form. Could easily do a quick 30-35% before switching in the desired Aegi counter.

Yep, wasn't accounting for that either.

252+ Atk Choice Band Huge Power Azumarill Ice Punch vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Amoonguss: 212-250 (95.9 - 113.1%) -- 75% chance to OHKO

Max defensive:

252+ Atk Choice Band Huge Power Azumarill Ice Punch vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Amoonguss: 142-168 (64.2 - 76%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery

It still a check though. What if the bunny is not choice locked and predicts Heilolisk's switch with Play Rough/Superpower?

I was more thinking of taking one hit, then using King's Shield to drop Zu's attack so you can setup safely or force a switch out.

You can easily tank one hit in Shield form, as long as it isn't Waterfall on the switch. Then either KS to get the attack drop, or start setting up knowing they will have to switch.

Most banded Azu's aren't going to keep attacking Aegi though knowing that it typically carries KS. They would simply switch (unless they were complete idiots) as soon as they saw you bring Aegi in.

Still, I suppose that nets you a nice SD boost in the event you're running the physical version. Watch out for those Normal types though that can OHKO or come close and are immune to Shadow Sneak.

Diggersby comes to mind, as well as Mega Khan running EQ. Mega Aggron could also live a +2 Sacred Sword and easily OHKO with EQ on your stance change.

Also, +4 252+ Atk Aegislash-Blade Sacred Sword vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Filter Mega Aggron: 135-160 (76.2 - 90.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Still doesn't quite OHKO, even at +4. If that doesn't show you the defensive Behemoth that Mega Aggron is I don't know what else to say. Quite impressive.
