Question about breeding shinies

#1rodman870Posted 1/12/2014 8:05:43 PM
I'm trying to get a shiny slugma. So I'm breeding a japanese magcargo (female) with my drifblim (well. . . male).

So can I do that and still get that Masuda bonus chance? Or do they have to both be of the same family of pokemon?

Also what is it? 1 in 800 or so with that method?
I like tacos more than burritos.
I'm going to eat a taco, then a burrito. Get it right people...

All that is required for the Masuda Method is that one Pokemon comes from a different language game as the other one. So, a Japanese Magcargo and English Drifblim will work just fine. It doesn't matter that they're not in the same egg group.

We have no way of knowing the shiny rate when using the Masuda Method, but the best guess is about 1/683. That could be entirely wrong, however.
