I gave a question about chaining.

I am fishing, encountering Pokemon each time, but they are often different species. Like I might get a Skrelp on one hook then the next one I get Horsea. Does this break the streak?

Getting different Pokemon does not break the chain.

Thank you.

I have an Japanese Timid Ditto 3IV (destiny knot) with my beloved Adamant Garchomp (Everstone)

And i got around 20 eggs and none is shiny but i got a surprise, some baby Adamant Gabite has 4IV <3<3<3

My Garchomp has a strong son, not fully but, better than its dad jijiji :P

Im currently doing Gardevoir shiny, currently hatched 18 eggs, because i LOVE the mega evolution design =))

Fishing method is a great start for those who never got any shinies besides in game or store events. Very easy, and surprisingly quick to pull one out.

I've just started the masuda method for the first time after getting shiny charm (not sure if it affects it this game), and my progress has been pretty good.

I wanted two of the same shinies in case someone wanted to trade, and my results were:

28 eggs on the first try
around 170 eggs the second try for the same shiny
and around 460 eggs the third time for a hydro pump shiny surskit

I'm now working on a shiny marill with aqua jet due to recommendations and thanks to the egg cycle being so low, so I hope I can get one, if not two, within 500 eggs.

Just to confirm the whole question if you need to talk to the guy at the fishing shack before you do chain fishing, you do not. I did it without talking to him once and caught a shiny Dragalge with only a streak of 32. I was shocked when this happened because it only took me 15 minutes, if that. It was my first shiny I've ever caught in the wild and I've played every game since the Yellow version. The only other shiny that I've seen was on Fire red, and that was a Natu, but unfortunately I had no poke balls at the time. And I would say I've put at least 200+ hours on each game, and rarely do I use repels.
