Pokemon Bank FAQ/Usage Guide

#1Biospark27Posted 2/4/2014 4:26:26 AM
This aims to answer questions about the Pokemon Bank Application.

This application was recently released in the Australian/European regions, and was released in Japan some time ago. There is currently no official release date on Pokemon Bank for the US region yet, but it will presumably be soon.

Pokemon Bank is an application for the Nintendo 3DS that allows you to store Pokemon in your own personal boxes on the server, as well as allowing you to transfer Pokemon with Poke Transporter. Both applications are free to download from the Nintendo eShop. There is a small yearly fee with Pokebank.

Requirements
- Pokemon X/Y (retail or digital versions)
- Internet connection (both to download the application from the eShop and to access the servers)
- NNID (Nintendo Network ID)
- For Poke Transporter, 5th gen games, Pokemon Black/White or Pokemon Black/White 2

Pokemon Bank
The Pokemon Bank Application may be downloaded for free from the Nintendo eShop. The initial download is free, but requires a small fee per year. It comes with a 30 day trial period if you activate it before a certain date (depending on your region).

This date is March 14 for the Australian/European version.

Using Pokemon Bank
Once you launch Pokemon Bank, you will be required to accept an agreement in the software (which is that if you knowingly transfer non-legitimate Pokemon over, you risk losing access to Pokebank without a refund). Choose the game you want to use with it for this session (either retail or digital versions). Select “Use Pokemon Bank” to access the service.

If you don’t have any credit left in Pokebank, you’ll need to buy a pass for a small fee, which varies by region. Although if you activate the software before the free trial date expires, you get a free 30 day trial. The Pass is valid for 365 days. If it expires, you’ll be able to withdraw Pokemon but you won’t be able to deposit them.

Cost By Region per year (research done on various sites):
$4.99 USD / 500 yen / £4.49 / €4.99 / $6.50 AUD / $8.50 NZD

Controls
Control the main screen with buttons, not stylus. Top screen has your Pokemon Bank boxes, while the bottom screen has your game boxes. Use the D-Pad to make your selection.

Use Start to switch between the following selection tools:
- Red Arrow: View details
- Blue Arrow: Move single Pokemon
- Green Arrow, select an area of Pokemon and move them. (You can select up to 30 at one time).

- Y: Lists all Pokemon you have. You can search/sort by species or other important factors, such as gender/stats. Use the D-Pad to view all the stats of your Pokemon on the top screen. You can return back to the box selection at any time.
- X: Saves your progress and disconnects from Pokebank. If you don't want to make changes, press X, and select No, then Yes.

You can store a maximum of 3000 Pokemon in your personal bank.

Changes are saved in your Pokemon game immediately once you press X and confirm your changes. Use Pokemon Link in game to obtain gifts from Pokemon Bank (accessible from the game's starting screen). Initially, you get either 100 Poke Miles or 10 Battle Points. You get a Celebi once you use Pokemon Bank for the first time (limited time only). Get it with Pokemon Link in Pokemon X/Y.

Poke Transporter
Poke Transporter allows you to transfer your Pokemon from your 5th generation Pokemon games to Pokemon X/Y. This is a one way transfer. You require the same things that you require for Pokemon Bank.

This application is available from the Pokemon Bank menu. It is free, and requires access to Pokemon Bank.

Instructions
- Put a 5th generation Pokemon game into your 3DS game card slot. Move the Pokemon you want to transfer into BOX 1 before launching Poke Transporter.
- You cannot transfer anything that holds an item. In addition, you cannot transport Black Kyurem or White Kyurem without unfusing them first. You also may be blocked from transferring Pokemon that are not obtained legitmately.
- You can transfer up to 30 Pokemon at a single time.
- Moves Pokemon to Transport Box in Pokemon Bank. Access Pokemon Bank and move them out of the Transport Box to obtain them in Pokemon X/Y.

that whole not LEGIT pokemon seems bs with all the trading options that were available from past games

gets pokemon looks 100% legit... turns out it wasnt legit nintendo blocks you for your not knowing...

puts it in same class as hacked items in online games that look legit buying from other players only to get banned after you buy it...

so its ether going be lame threat with no follow thought
or
bs to alot players....

lets face it theirs alot hacked pokemon out their and if thay follow up this now...
odds are half if not all pokemon players that used online trading in black/white or any games that could link to them will get banned from transferring...

seems extreamly foolish not to point out the following:
already hacked pokemon from bank in Y/X
already a handful of people who hacked Y/X
all the trade systems that came before X/Y that can link to X/Y before bank

and top it off issues on issues with older events... all in game events that are activated with ingame items Example: the azure flute was mass hacked...

but their were some people that got that event legitly

owns all game systems... equal feelings about all of them...

Clones have gone through fine for me in the UK. Only had a few, 2 event Arceus, Event Victini and Liberty island Victini, event Zekrom, event darkrai, event shiny Girantina, event keldeo, genesect and Meleotta.

Pokecheck.org for the best clones that pass with no problem.

1) Thanks, TC.

2) Question: I skipped the B/W/B2/W2 set of games but am interested in transporting some of my older teams up to bank, which of the four games from the previous gen do people suggest? Again, thanks!

Wait, about the "if you try to send a hacked mon, bye bye pokebank", what about the level 1 Gengar that got through? Did the Pokebank before the crash said that? And is known if you actually really lose Pokebank of you send a hacked mon?

Just wondering
