Wait...can pokemon have their hidden ability through breeding?

Like, I just started breeding Eevee for funsies, and I always thought Adaptability was its HA.

Then I look at bulbapedia and am like "zomg, its HA is actually Anticipation!"

I hadn't gotten a single Eevee with its HA after like 50, breeding with ditto mind you.

Does the parent Eevee need to have the HA in order for the offspring to potentially have the HA?

Slash for Eevee, are there any Eeveeloutions that would benefit from the Eevee having its HA?

If the female has the hidden ability, then yes. or if it's a male with a ditto. Sylveon benefits, as does espeon

Parents must have their HA.

Quite a few, Sylveon comes to mind.

The ways to pass HAs:

Male (with HA) + Ditto
Female (with HA) + compatible partner
