I wish you could catch every single pokemon in one game

Or at least between two games >_> have half in one and half in the other, that way it still encourages trading. & if you really wanted you'd buy both versions and they'd both play out different because they wouldn't have the same pokemon in each version.

I wish they would stop with the "release two seperate versions and then a definitive version two years later" nonsense.

I know. And it's not like I can just wait two years for the new version (really). The wait would be too grueling. Game Freak has got us by the balls.

Aside from making more money, I think they divide pokes between two games to promote a social market with trades and such. I dont mind it so much now than when the games first came out (red, blue, gold, silver) since wifi access and improved direct connections make the social part of pokemon easier

Classic Nintendo.

Yeah that's stupid. "Oh, the new Pokemon just released but I want the definitive version...it's totally cool! While everyone's playing the new games, I'll just wait 2 years for the best version!". I couldn't even do that, and it's why I caved and bought Pokemon X

Sometimes I love Nintendo and sometimes I hate them with a fiery passion.

Nintendo doesn't make the main series Pokémon games, that's GameFreak's job. And you have no one to blame but yourself for caving in. Definitive versions aren't even guaranteed, since generation V didn't even have a third version. Also, you're not forced to buy the third version either. Do you buy every game of the year re-release with all the DLC inside one year later?

-Nintendo still has large shares in GF and could probably prevent two versions if it wanted to
-Even if you don't buy the 3rd version, it's still annoying
