252 Atk Choice Band Staraptor Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Cloyster: 222-262 (73 - 86.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO This is why I prefer the HP investment though, it makes it fairly bulky.

True, but 99.9% of the Cloysters you face (yours aside) aren't going to be HP invested, and even if they are max HP, they still won't like Banded Brave Birds/Combats (as shown above).

TC also said name a poke who can "tank" those attacks. A heavily induced 2HKO isn't what I'd call tanking.

At the very least you kill T-flame/Raptor, but then what? Your Cloyster is easily revenged/rendered rather useless for the remainder of the battle. You won't be able to set up Smash, etc.

Put it this way, max defensive Cloyster wouldn't be my solution to dealing with these two.

252HP Cloyster still dies after Stealth Rock wait where's Stealth Rock. Can you really not just stick it on Excadrill? I can't imagine running HO without rocks

Right, but as I stated earlier the TC just asked for something that could tank a Brave Bird that was an ice user, which this version of cloyster can do, and between icicle spear and rock blast it's going to kill whichever one was out, and you might have something else to switch to for the other one.

True, but a heavily induced 2HKO isn't what I'd call "tanking." It takes massive damage from one, even if Cloyster is max HP invested.

252 Atk Choice Band Talonflame Brave Bird vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Cloyster: 127-151 (41.7 - 49.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

252 Atk Choice Band Staraptor Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Cloyster: 222-262 (73 - 86.1%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

Stealth Rock doesn't quite fill the gap to kill it from Talonflame, but with staraptor it would. But this is considering a lead of cloyster so it wouldn't take stealth rock until it switched in, if you want to talk about switch ins, then you'd have to take into account cloyster's ice shard and the stealth rocks on the birds side as well.

Get rid of Talonflame. It's just a cheap, one-button-I-win tactic at time it can be used, and just poop when it can't. Replace it with some bulk, like Slowbro or Umbreon. I personally recommend Umbreon w/ Foul Play. He's the MVP of my team.

I'm abusing the fact that A flying is arguably the best offensive type in the game

B. Dat priority

C. Few teams carry multiple flying resist

I make rate my team topic and try to be nice. Nobody cares.
TC makes rate my team topic, and insults posters. Gets 38 responses.
