How good is it? Is it worth breeding one up? Also , are there any egg moves that are a must? Please do not tell me an entire set, as I want to try and learn on my own.

It's good, but it doesn't solve the whole issue of being totally walled by Fairy types.

The only egg move you might want to consider is Earth Power.

If the opponent is obviously going to switch into something, Flash Cannon can be pretty good. I carry it on an Expert Belt set.

Except it's not totally walled by Fariy-types. It learns Flash Cannon, which hits every Fairy-type in the game super-effectively except for Azumarill, Mawile, and Klefki. (Sadly, it can only hit those neutrally...because of course neutral critical hits off that SPATK aren't going to hurt at all.)

Too bad every other fairy has very high special defense and will often take Flash Cannon with ease.

The above-mentioned Earth Power wrecks Klefki and Mawile, especially on a crit.

Another thing, do crits ignore attack drops on the user? Like if Hydra used Draco Meteor, would the next one be as strong?

I'd assume that Fire Blast/Flash Cannon/Draco Meteor would be the best attacking moves for a Focus Energy build, then?

Pretty much every Steel type that resists Draco Meteor can just be hit with Fire Blast instead, and Flash Cannon will let you two hit KO hit any predictable Fairy type switch-ins if they aren't totally build for special defense.

Yes. That's the main appeal of a Focus Energy set.
