Action Replay Powersaves - corrupted file.

In what ways can your file be corrupted when using powersaves? I plan on getting it when it releases this Friday, mainly to make mine and other peoples pokemon shiny, as well as maybe getting a Latiosite. I know the Latiosite is very risky and has a high chance of making my file corrupted since it hasn't released yet, but would changing TSV's to make a pokemon shiny even have a chance at me having a corrupted file? I have almost 600 hours on my Y file and it would absolutely suck if it got corrupted and I had to start over again...

If you're using that stupid thing, you deserve to have you're save data corrupted.

Corrupted files are a myth and anti-hacker silly propaganda. Even in the rare event a save file got corrputed, there is an autobackup option that is default on that allows you to revert to before you made changes.

The fact that you can back up your save file makes it so even if it does get corrupted, you're not really in any danger.

But in all honesty, if you're that worried about it, just don't even use the thing, since if it gets corrupted before it makes a backup (Which some people have had happen), then you're out of luck.

It doesn't corrupt your game unless you remove it while it's writing a new save. Which is why it lets you back up your save in the first place.

I haven't heard of anyone's save file getting corrupted from powersaves.
You can back up your save file if you're worried though.

Anytime you rip a save file, alter it, and then inject it back to a cart, you run the risk of corrupting the data. Just remember to back up your save first (even though Powersaves will make an autobackup.) My file has been corrupted twice, but it was no big deal since I just restored my save and then reapplied the mod.

Good to know, someone told me they couldn't make my pokemon shiny on their original file because their file would get corrupted, but they just got their powersaves today so they might not know much. Thanks!
