For the uninitiated, someone hooked up a Game Boy emulator playing Pokémon Crystal to a Twitch live stream, letting the viewers control the game by typing commands into the live chat.

If you've not seen it yet, this is the Google Doc with progress updates and stats. It also has a HIGHLY USEFUL script at the bottom that removes the chat commands from the chat log. You can still enter them, but they won't pop up. It still goes pretty quick, but you can actually read most of what people are saying:
Finally, this is the link to the amazing update log. It's updated almost constantly with detailed info about what has happened recently. If you can keep track of where you last viewed it, it's easy to catch up on what happened while you were away:
Yesterday when they deposited Feraligator and had a nice full team of under leveled Pokemon was perfect. They even had someone they could teach surf to so they could grind Tentacools. Alas idiots wanted to go to the PC and withdraw him though.
maybe they lost some viewers to hours of being at the PC trying to get rid of the gator or get him back, that's all they're ever doing when i look at the stream now... They've now killed Wooper too, and got Pidgey and Hoothoot out of daycare when they were trying to leave the gator there (which they still didn't)
The war about Lazorgator is horrendous. People trying to force the lore, trolls infesting the stream with a much bigger impact than usual, rampant arguments splitting the already dysfunctional fanbase down the middle. Combine that with the already present irrational hatred of the democracy system, people taking the lore too seriously, and the general idiocy and you have one toxic experience.
It was at least somewhat fun while it lasted. Occasionally I check to see the progress, but I'm starting to get more encouraged to join the thousands of others and just leave. Seeing such stupidity made this more frustrating than it should have been.
I wish I didn't feel so strongly about this. I really wish so...
