Dragon Team Help

#1Electabuzz93Posted 3/10/2014 11:37:01 AM
So I'm trying to put together a dragon-type team. This isn't for competitive use, I just have always loved dragon pokemon and wanted to create a strong team. I wasn't planning on doing this originally so I was not paying attention to abilities; I'm just working with what I have. I realized as I was writing this that there isn't much of a difference between some of the movesets. I'd really love some advice on moves and anything else that could improve this team.

(1) Charizard (Blaze)
Fly
Dragon Claw
Flamethrower
Aerial Ace
(obviously need to change one of the flying moves)

(2) Hydreigon (Levitate)
Flash Cannon
Dragon Rush
Dark Pulse
Hyper Voice

(3) Dragonite (Inner Focus)
Aerial Ace
Dragon Claw
Surf
Thunderbolt

(4) Garchomp (Sand Veil)
Crunch
Earthquake
Aerial Ace
Dragon Claw

(5) Salamence (Intimidate)
Earthquake
Crunch
Fly
Dragon Claw

(6) Haxorus (Rivalry)
Brick Break
Dragon Pulse
Earthquake
Aerial Ace

I refuse to comment until that atrocious Hydra set is remedied.

Hydreigon is much better off using a special set instead of a mixed.

Dark Pulse
Dragon Pulse
Earth Power
Surf

Dark Pulse and Dragon Pulse for STAB. Earth Power and Surf for coverage. You can change Earth Power and Surf to other moves depending on what types you want Hydreigon to handle. In order to get Earth Power, you will need to breed a Hydreigon that learned it from the move tutor in B2/W2.

Haxorus and that Dragon Pulse shouldn't be a thing. Ever :(
Replace Pulse with Dragon Claw or Outrage and life will be better for him.

+ You also may want to find Water coverage since a bunch of Water types also learn Ice types.

Charizard
Rock Slide or Steel Wing
Dragon Claw
Flamethrower
Aerial Ace

Hydreigon
Flash Cannon
Dragon Pulse
Dark Pulse
Hyper Voice

Dragonite
Aerial Ace
Dragon Claw
Surf
Thunderbolt

Garchomp
Crunch
Earthquake
Iron Head(covers Fairy weakness)
Dragon Claw

Salamence
Earthquake
Crunch
Fly
Dragon Claw

Haxorus (Mold Breaker)
Brick Break
Outrage
Grass Knot (for water/ground)
Aerial Ace

That should be a dragon team that can cover just about any type you can expect to run into whether competitively playing or not

Check Smogon for moveset information. No need to follow them literally since you're doing this for fun, but it can give good ideas
