Can I do a nuzlocke playthrough without resetting my save?

So I wanna do the nuzlocke challenge, but my options seems be either

1. Buy a new copy of pokemon.
2. Delete my main playthrough and start over.
3. 2, but depositing my pokemon into the pokebank.

Is there some kind of way to have multiple saves? Or some sort of NG+? Are all the people doing nuzlocke just wiping their saves, then starting over?

why would you do 2 when you can do 3. I say it depends on if you want to spend money or not

Buy Powersave. It's cheaper than a new copy, and you can use it to backup your save data, and restore it whenever you want. That's what I did on my pre-owned game to get more Yveltal.

So are those the only two options? I might have to do powersave then.

Oh, and yeah, I just meant if you didn't want to do pokebank.
