Okay, I had planned to play through Looker Sidequest and do a quick writeup for MissJocelyn's character since I've heard it's quite good and I've never played it before, but... it's not happening. Looker Sidequest is atrociously awful. Will not complete awful.
So, Chapter 1 has you cruise around to various locations around Lumiose and collect Looker Tickets to prove your worth to Looker to be his free assistant. It's not really the height of great gameplay or great writing, but it's not overly difficult or time consuming, since the clues given are quite easy and it sets up the concept of you being a detective's assistant. Its not even worth rating because it's artificially-padded garbaje.
Chapter 2 has you visit Looker and you need to go scour back alleys in order to find some naughty kids. The only clue that you're given is that it's in Southern Lumiose. There are a lot of back alleys in Southern Lumiose.
I spend twenty minutes scouring the dozens of tiny alleys in southern Lumiose, and finally find Mimi. There are some extremely easy battles here (you've just proven you can beat the Elite 4 and now you have to versus easy stuff like a level 50-odd swinub). Doing several of these easy battles results in a cutscene where Looker tries to offer Mimi a place to stay if she helps him out, and Espurr runs away just to add more annoying filler content to the mission. I then have to hunt down the Espurr. This takes about ten minutes before I find Espurr in the right alley. I pick the option pet, and it decides to run away from me. I then track down Espurr again, pick the option smile, and it runs away from me yet again. I try to look for it once more, and can't seem to find it anywhere. I go back to Looker, also known as Mr. "There is joy in having work to do each day and your efforts seen and appreciated" and he's standing around doing nothing to help. Mimi doesn't seem to care that her best friend has ran away.
I try looking around Northern Lumiose once more and I can't find the Espurr I'm supposed to find. Since I'm seriously annoyed at how pointless all of this cycling around is and I'm not using a guide I'm really not bothered to continue any futher. What I've seen all pointless and artificially-added annoying filler that serves no purpose for plot that couldn't as easily been done with Espurr running to the corner of the first alley and me interacting with it there. It's terribly-designed and I'm not interested in continuing.
tl;dr version - worst sidequest in Pokemon ever.
Oh, and if you try to defend this by suggesting that I use a guide to play through this garbaje I will take that you implicitly agree with me that it's a terribly-designed subquest.
