Is it possible to get mew in pokemon Y or X?

Just curious is there any way for me to get mew in this game without me needing pokemon emerald?

I have pokemon emerald but I no longer have the DS which is backward compatible with GBA games, since the hinges broke. I have to buy the action replay to be able to get to the island that mew is in pokemon emerald.

So that means I need to buy a Nintendo DS with GBA compatibility and a action replay to get Mew, is that really the only way to get mew in this game?

For the time being, I would imagine there could be an event later that would let you get Mew.

There have been many, many Mew giveaways over the years. From December people will be able to transfer legit mews over to the new gen.

There will undoubtedly be more giveaway mews in the next year or two.

Hmm I have the DS lite, it has problem, but it works. The battery of the DS lite dies and find it hard to recharge but not that issue.

When I play pokemon emerald it say this

"The internal battery has run dry. The game can be played. However, clock-based events will no longer occur."

Does that mean I can't transfer pokemon from my pokemon emerald to Pokemon diamond and then to BW and then here?

I am saved beside mew ready to battle in pokemon emerald by the way.

Uh, I'm not sure how Emerald uses clock based events but I doubt trading would be effected by that. I played Emerald a bit but that was the last game I played since I bought Pokemon Y like 3 weeks ago so I'm a bit fuzzy on how all of the things in there worked. As for your DS lite, can't you just keep it plugged in while you are playing/trading?

It just means that you can't get Espeon/Umbreon, or other events that require the ingame clock to be a certain time.

if you want to go as far back as emerald then yes you will need to get a new handheld, or you could do the alternative and use pokemon ranch on the wii system to obtain mew, then you don't have as far back to go to transfer it

Pokémon Ranch grants Mew when you store 999 Pokémon. Then you would simply have to wait for the Bank to come out next month.
