Oh so it's not the way it was before then where certain elements where categorized into special or physical?
Is there a way to know if an elemental atk is physical or special atk based? --- > _> currently out of ideas..

Yes, the attack will either be Special, Physical, or Status, depending on its "icon" The orange/red icon means that the attack is physical. The blue icon means that the attack is special. The gray icon means that the attack is status. --- 3ds FC: 1977-0205-6694 QP3W-WWWW-WWW5-YH63
Thank you! That helps a lot! There are some small things in this game that I needed to figure out again. The last Pokemon I played was Fire Red so I had a lot of catching up to do in terms of new mechanics. --- > _> currently out of ideas..

Pikachu and Electivwire can be both physical and special attack. It all depends on really on the trainer. --- Friend code: 2423-3798-4526 Skype: Aznhaloev01

If you're talking about types before the Physical/Special split, then:
Physical: Normal Fighting Poison Ground Flying Bug Rock Ghost Steel
Special: Fire Water Electric Grass Ice Psychic Dragon Dark
Fairy would probably have been Special if it existed then.
