Any way to leave Forbidden Woods?

I'm in the middle of the Forbidden Woods and would like to leave to submit some pictographs to the Nintendo Gallery. However, whenever I try to fly away from the dungeon toward the Gallery with the leaf, the game only lets me go so far before I hit an invisible wall. Eventually my magic runs out, I hit the water, and it reloads me from the Woods. Any way to get around this, or do I need to just beat the dungeon?

I'm not sure about this, but did you try exiting the Forbidden Woods, saving outside, and then quitting? You might be able to start at Forest Haven that way.

Hmm, I've shut my game off for the night, but I will have to give this a try in the morning. Thanks!

Make sure the wind is blowing in your favor. I haven't tried floating directly to the gallery from the Forbidden Woods, but it's definitely possible to get back to the mainland by flying back towards the island with the whirlwind circling it first, then changing wind direction again.

Well I've never tried it myself, so I'm not sure it would work. But I figure it's worth a try.

Best of luck!

EDIT: ^ poly's way should definitely work.

Don't go toward the Nintendo Gallery island.

Float to the middle platform using the cyclone to get some extra height. Refresh your magic there, adjust the wind, then float toward the Forest Haven entrance on the right (where the Octorok is).

It's possible to glide to the Nintendo Gallery island from the ledge by the entrance to the Forbidden Forest. Just don't forget to direct the wind that way.
